CDL Class A - Full Course
Program Overview
The CDL Class A Full Course is a 160-hour, 21-day training program designed to prepare students for safe, compliant operation of Class A commercial motor vehicles. The program includes ELDT-approved theory instruction, supervised range training, and public road driving experience. Students complete all requirements needed to take the Kentucky CDL Skills Test.
Program Objectives
Upon successful completion, students will be able to:
Demonstrate safe vehicle operation in accordance with FMCSA standards.
Communicate effectively in real-world trucking situations.
Perform all required pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections.
Execute FMCSA-required range maneuvers (straight line, offset, parallel, alley dock).
Operate a CMV safely in traffic, urban, rural, and highway environments.
Meet all Entry-Level Driver Training (ELDT) requirements.
Prepare for the CDL Class A Knowledge and Skills Tests.

40 hours – Theory/Classroom/ELDT
120 hours – Range & Road Skills Training
Schedule: 21 days, 8 hours per day, Monday through Friday
Assessments & Requirements
Students must complete:
ELDT Theory Assessment (passing required for TPR submission)
Range skill evaluations
Road driving evaluations
Pre-trip inspections
Final proficiency testing (as required by FMCSA)
Upon completion, the school submits results to the FMCSA Training Provider Registry (TPR).

Entrance Requirements
Must be at least 18 years old (21 for interstate driving)
Valid driver’s license
DOT Medical Exam (student cost)
DOT Drug Test (student cost)
Ability to read and speak English at a functional level (ESL support provided)

Graduation Requirements
To graduate, students must:
Complete all 160 program hours
Pass ELDT Theory and required assessments
Demonstrate proficiency in all FMCSA-mandated skills
Meet attendance and conduct standards outlined in the catalog
Satisfy all financial obligations to the schools here
